All workshops will be held from 3:15 - 4:15
1 hour unscheduled inservice credit each
or 5 recertification hours for participating in 5 workshops
Hands-On SmartBoard Introduction - October 28 (GWC)
Need time to play with the SmartBoard? This workshop will provide hands-on
opportunities to use the pens, eraser, Notebook software, and generally acquaint
you with the features of the SmartBoard. There will be ample opportunity
for all participants to use a Smartboard to practice basic skills used in an
elementary classroom.
Blogging: Just Do It! - November 13 (East)
Have a hard time energizing your students about writing? Try blogging
with your K-5 class and watch your students' excitement grow!
We will look at examples of blogs for all grade levels (younger grades too!),
and then set up one for your class.

Easy Peasy Web Pages - November 25 (South)
Choose from a variety of cute elementary templates (such as frogs, bees, by
the sea, explorers, jukebox,
Hollywood
,
monkeys, flowers and more) and learn
how to set up your own class website. We will be using FrontPage to add
text, pictures, and links. This is a great class for beginners.
Using the Smartboard to Teach K-5 Language Arts - December 11 (GWC)
Come explore a variety of activities and websites in Language Arts that can
be used with the SmartBoard in grades K-5. There will be ample
opportunity for all participants to use a Smartboard to explore Language Arts
activities.
Web Page Workshop - January 15 (South)
Come brush up on your webpage skills while working on your elementary class
website. This is an inservice for those of you who have already created your
website in Front Page and just need time to work, to ask questions, and to learn
new skills.
Using the Smartboard to Teach K-5 Science - February 3 (GWC)
Come explore a variety of Science activities and websites that can be
used with the SmartBoard in grades K-5. There will be ample opportunity
for all participants to use a Smartboard to explore Science activities.
Using the Smartboard to Teach K-5 Social Studies - March 3 (GWC)
Come explore a variety of activities and websites in Social Studies that can
be used with the SmartBoard in grades K-5. There will be ample
opportunity for all participants to use a Smartboard to explore Social Studies
activities.
Google Earth Adventure - March 19 (West)
Learn to create you own travel adventures in Google Earth to go with all
different subject areas. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced user,
you will really enjoy learning how to integrate Google Earth into your
curriculum. We'll show you examples of learning activities in all subject
areas for K-5 to get you jump started. We'll even teach you how to make
your own!

be used with the SmartBoard in grades K-5. There will be ample
opportunity for all participants to use a Smartboard to explore Language Arts
activities. This is a repeat of the December session.
