FAQ

How are the children's birthdays celebrated?

There is one party per month for the children who have birthdays in that particular month.  The date of the party will depend on the dates of the children's birthdays.  Typically, the party is in the middle of the month.  I will send home a note telling the date of the party and asking you to send goodies in for the party.  Visit our birthday graph!

What does my child do if they forget their lunch money/snack?
Your child may borrow money from the office and repay them the following day.  Your child may borrow a snack from our class "snack bank" and make a snack donation themselves sometime later.

Is my child allowed to bring toys to school?

Please do not allow your child to bring toys to school.  They will receive one warning and after that I will keep toys in my "June Box".  That means they won't get them back until June.  The only day they should bring a toy is on Friday for show and tell.

What should my child bring for show and tell?

Your child may bring whatever they wish, so long as it does not resemble or contain weapons.  Please talk with your child about what they will tell the class when showing what they bring.

How do Daily Folders work?
Daily folders are an important organizational tool.  They should be brought to school each day.  There are two pockets in the folder: BRING RIGHT BACK and LEFT AT HOME.  The folder should be checked each day as soon as your child comes home.  Remove papers from the home pocket and discuss them with your child.  You should consider this routine their "homework".  It is a great way for them to review and share their day at school with you.  Please check for important notes in the bring back pocket, read carefully, complete when necessary, and return to school in the folder.  Please send notes concerning afternoon routine changes, doctor's appointments, etc. in the folder.
