Hello! My name is Katie Crotts.
I am one of three kindergarten
teachers at
South Salem Elementary School in Salem, Virginia.
The school year 2011-2012 is my twelfth year teaching at South Salem.
I also taught for one year at East Salem Elementary teaching Title I reading
and math.
I was born in Roanoke, Virginia and have lived in this
area my whole life! I attended East Salem, Andrew Lewis,
and Salem High. I received my BA degree from
Roanoke College with a major in Sociology. I am
certified to to teach grades NK-8. I also have a
master's degree in instruction from UVA.
I thoroughly love teaching. I have always known
that teaching
was meant for me! When I'm not teaching, I enjoy quilting,
reading, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.
I have a daughter named Delaney.
I have one gray cat named Clyde,
a miniature black and tan dachshund named Tallulah, and a miniature red
piebald dachshund
named Clementine. (click here for photos of my
