
Emergency Procedures
Students shall participate in practice drills during the school year as follows:
- Fire/Bomb Threat and/or other emergency requiring exit from the school – the fire alarm will
be sounded on a continuous basis for the drill.
- Students will exit from the building according to their exit plan posted in each classroom.
- Students will exit the building in single file and no talking is the rule for this drill.
- Fire drills will be conducted during each week of the first month of school and once per month thereafter.
- Tornado Drill – the school “bell” will be sounded
in an “on-off-on-off” pattern for this drill.
- Students will move quietly to the hallway outside their classrooms and will assume a crouched position facing the wall of their designated area. Students should place their hands on top of their head.
- This drill will be practiced during the first month of school and at the beginning of second semester.
- Lockdown Drills will also be practiced during the Emergency Drill Week in October.
