Parties
School parties represent one of the many “fun” activities that are planned each year. Activities such as these help create a pleasant environment for students at school. The PTA assists the school in an important way by providing “room mothers” who plan and coordinate activities of school parties under the direction of homeroom teachers.
The planning of parties and treats is the responsibility of the grade level chairman and the head homeroom mother for each grade level. All homerooms in a grade level should offer comparable treats and activities for students. As reflected by the recently adopted "Wellness Policy (City of Salem School Board), healthy choices for classroom parties are strongly recommended.
Birthday treats may be brought to school for studentst in all grade levels. Please check with your child's teacher to make sure there are no allergy restrictions in the classroom. Unless arranged previously by your child's teacher, birthday treats are to be dropped off in the office.
Also, birthday invitations may be distributed in the classroom provided that every child is included. Please check with your child's teacher for the number of students in the class. Addresses wil not be provided.
